Cornerstone Preschool Parents’ Association
Cornerstone Preschools’ Parent Association, “CPPA,” is a support organization for the students, families and staff of Cornerstone. The purpose and goal is to enhance and to enrich the daily educational experiences through fun, exciting and educational events. The success of the CPPA and the ability to provide these enrichment programs for our students is dependent on the support of our families. All families are asked to participate in the yearly donation fee that covers costs of special events and gatherings.
Special Events and Gatherings
With each families yearly donation we are fortunate to be able to have “on-site” filed trips. Some of the past shows and events we have had are: Bubblemania, The Animal Guys, Mobile Marine Lab, Snow Day, Mad Science, Frankin Haynes Marionetts, Petting Zoo & Pony Express, Learning through Nature, and many others. Our Fall Festival in November is an all school gathering where fall crafts, beverages & treats, and a marionette show are enjoyed by all of our families and staff.
Parent Involvement
We firmly believe that a strong home school connection is so very valuable and important for our families, students, and staff. We encourage parents to be pro-active in their child’s early childhood school experience. Each classroom is grateful to have one parent volunteer to be a Room Parent for the duration of the school year (September-August). Room Parents are a valuable source for teachers and can be a direct liaison to other families in the class. Room Parents work closely with the classroom teacher and primarily oversee the classroom website on Shutterfly. This communication between school and home keeps parents informed of specific classroom activities, volunteer opportunities, scheduled classroom festivities, and other important information that will be helpful to the students and class.
Community Outreach
Charitable Connections- We strongly believe in giving back and serving those in need. Since our establishment opened in 2005, Cornerstone Preschool has generously been a part of the following charitable organizations: Toys for Tots, Unicef, Spark of Love, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, Manna Food Bank, Help for Haiti, Hop for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Book Ends. This invaluable heartfelt experience educates and supports awareness and it gives our school community a sense of helping others.
